Alma – Industrial software: from nesting to off-line programming of robots

Known for 30 years as the specialist in automatic nesting software applied to the cutting of flat materials , Alma, thanks to its “Industrial software” Department, is currently established in three European countries, in China and in Brazil, and is one of the leaders in the publishing of CAD-CAM software for sheet-metal manufacturing, cutting and robotics .

In 1994, Alma extended its range of application software to the off-line programming of robots in the field of arc welding and 3D cutting. As a consequence of this, Alma offers the most comprehensive range of CAD-CAM software for sheet-metal and mechanized welding . The application software products of the act/ range cover all the technologies encountered in these activities: punching-nibbling, 2D cutting, routing, shearing, bending, 3D cutting, tubes cutting, arc welding...

These products are distributed worldwide by Alma's distribution network composed of subsidiaries, dedicated distributors and partners such as cutting machine or robot manufacturers.

The marketing of its algorithms in the form of “software components” (automatic nesting for cutting, trajectory calculation with obstacle avoidance for the development of robotic applications) also provides Alma with a precious technical expertise for the development of its application software.
