Utility program for the unfolding of sheet metal parts in Solid Edge®

Alma, a publisher of CAD/CAM software for sheet metal working, member of the Voyager Program and partner of Siemens PLM Software, has developed a utility program that can be directly integrated to Solid Edge®. This program is aimed at professionals who use the unfolding functions relative to sheet-metal parts.

Unfold Table enables the user to manage bend allowances from the real values noticed in the workshop. The tables are pre-entered using the DIN 6935 standard formula and can be modified by the users following workshop feedbacks. Different tables are available according to materials and thicknesses. It is not necessary to enter many values as interpolations are carried out by prolonging the curve continuously (thickness, radius, angle). This utility program can be directly and very easily integrated to Solid Edge® by adding an “Alma” toolbar.
